Kelp

Kelp in progress.  Pieces are machine appliquéd.  All silk fabrics, some old kimono, some vintage.

I find it freeing to appliqué at times, although I appreciate the demands made by piecing.  I enjoy the idea that pieced quilts mean that design and fabric become one.

Painted green silk may need moderation
